Of class I tried this, and I should accept said so in my original post. Both windows and and Acer'south commuter update monitor say I am all caught upwardly. The camera won't plough off.

You tin turn off the photographic camera and so that no app, including the Photographic camera app, can employ it.
- Press Windows + Ten keys on the keyboard, select Device manager.
- Expand Imaging Devices .
- Right-click the photographic camera/webcam, and then click Disable .

Well, that's fine – until I desire to use the camera. Say I want to make a Skype telephone call. I reactivate the photographic camera but it gets hijacked by something. Skype won't operate. It says some other application is using the camera. But I tin't tell which application. Task manager doesn't indicate whatever application. And I can't plough the camera off. That is, I can't plough it off without disabling it. Back to square one. Help!

14 October 2016, however I have the very same problem, is it a Windows x characteristic? The spider web cam worked OK on Windows 7.

Did you e'er figured it out? Same issue hither. upgraded to Windows 10 and at present webcam is not working in whatever app apart from point grab!!! Looked everywhere only no luck. Anybody has the respond to that one?

That's a prissy canned response. Withal, Microsoft is the manufacturer in my case. And the photographic camera works fine, as does the mic built into it. Cortana can hear me. I have a Live! Cam Chat Hard disk drive (VF0700) and information technology is working fine, But something is keeping the lite on, and information technology looks similar Microsoft, considering its a fresh install, with nothing installed nonetheless.
